None of that is good, is it? A rotting sky of endless desires. As Mercutio already mentioned, it’s hard to say what removing the Caelus would do for the general stability of the Otherside. Possibly nothing. And I would hope the architect of this removal was wise enough to plan for its eventual return as a failsafe. Unfortunately, even if that was the case at one point, we are 16 Universes deep, and as far as any of us are concerned, the Caelus has always been part of the Infernus—it’s symbiotic at this point. Cleaving one half cannot be good for anyone, well, beyond perhaps Eve and her Eden.
Sadly, this is all a bit out of my realm. I can alter the biology of organisms and tweak around with the mysteries of one’s soul but on matters of cosmological importance? I’m afraid I am out of my league. However… we are rather lucky, aren’t we? We are blessed with the presence of a very special greater cosmic entity, the Reality-Altering Dover D. Demon. And, as mentioned, I can alter his biology quite a bit—enhance him. Make him stronger than ever before. In my time with the Folistes, I’ve made quite a few breakthroughs and personal discoveries, the most important of which is one that Dover himself initially developed: progressive blood.
Inspired by his time in Dive Prime, Dover noticed that the numerous half-demons of the seedy city of Dive seemed to have evolving powers. Progressive powers. At first, he believed this was due to a large portion of the half-demons indulging in illegal black blood injections. However, even those who never touched the illicit substance showed “evolved” powers. It’s a rare phenomenon, truly, as it seems to only be spurred on by an lack of Otherside simulacrums. What luck, as we ourselves are currently without any living Princes.
If Dover’s research is correct, then I may be able to trigger his own “progressive blood,” enhancing his reality-altering powers further. To what end? Impossible to say. In all cases of progressive blood, Dover noted that the aspect of the subject’s powers that increased was often unpredictable. However, I am hoping to replicate the powers he used when shifting the Ouroboros and Eden back in early 2022. With that power under his control, he could shift the Caelus out of our reality but also out of Eve’s claws as well.
