Summary of Receipt

The Black Eden sucks, but at least there aren't many Protodemons or trapped Elders running around. Good news is that Eve's got most of the Protodemons under her control, and doesn't want any of the truly terrifying Elders like the Pale to wake up anyway - any possible threats to her dominion over Eden wouldn't be taken lightly.

As expected, this place is beyond miserable. And I’ve spent the better part of the last 20 years working in the Freezerburn. Though, to be fair, there is some beauty to be had out there, but in here? There is nothing but festering rot and macabre twisted amalgamations of a Plane forsaken by God. Thankfully, we’ve been able to avoid most of the Protodemons, but we’ve still had to stop every few minutes to claw thick spider silk from our clothes and thorns from our legs.

Speaking of the Protodemons, they really aren’t terribly frequent. Neither are imprisoned Elders, for that matter. I was worried that with the merging of the Black Tide and Eden, this place would have been overrun by newly freed Elders, but apparently, they’re all still sleeping in the Tide—for the most part. There’s a lot less keeping them asleep now, and with the unstable variable of Protodemons running around, some Elders have been stirred from their sleepless slumbers. At least the worst of the worst are being kept in their hypnagogic wash, probably at the strict order of Eve. It wouldn’t really do Eve any good to have viable challengers to her Silken Throne.

That is the one… well, I struggle to say “nice,” but it is one of the better things about the Black Tide merging with Eden. While Eden was removed from the Universe for the better part of… well… sixteen versions of the Universe, Eve and her Protodemons were still awake and conscious through that exile. Which at least gave Eve plenty of time to control Eden and the Protodemons. So, there is very little chance of any of the Protodemons going rogue and waking up the Pale—or worse. Of course, it doesn’t help that Eve is a bit venomous in her own right and would gladly rain Hell on the other Planes and the Flipside should her terms be broken.
