“I propose that I use what's left of the town treasury to move to a more prosperous town and run for mayor. And uh, once elected, I will send for the rest of you.”
Ah shoot. I forgot to start… y’know… espresso-ing. I totally was going to pull Julia aside and figure things out with her this month. Then all hell broke loose, Eldritch horrors everywhere, Sunkenmen and Golden Asswipes. It was a lot, and as a manager, Julia was a busy bee. I’ll catch up with her next month, and then we can FINALLY start our Espresso Affairs. And I’m starting to formulate some thoughts on what might be happening here. I mean, if the Otherworld and all its nouns were truly Otherworldly… how would they have interacted with the Black Tide?
Right?? Because, the Black Tide is—well, okay, it’s not actually part of Mayda, but it’s at least of this Universe. Energy-wise, the Black Tide is on the same wavelengths as everything else. And while I haven’t been able to get a feel for the Otherworld’s energy yet—it has to be either the same OR the opposite of everything else. Why? How else would the Pearl break through the Black Tide? Either it matched the energy, or it counteracted the energy. Or the Black Tide is actually more Otherworldly than we know of. That could be true… I mean, it is a weird Eldritch prison outside of space-time.
…I’m still out of my depth on this one. Which is why I need Julia’s help! Though… seeing as she just joined the Cafe a few months ago…eh… she probably won’t know much more than I do. But she’s got that freaky tattoo on her, and that’s good enough! I think we need to branch out a bit, though, and seek wiser counsel. I think I might know just the demon to ask… but I’ll worry about that once we’re back home and Julia is actually on the same page as I am for once.
