SOL03 (Sep 22, 2001)
Summary of Receipt
Carajillo declares that, if Lungo is unable to help them, that they are all dead. He believes the hidden portal in the Necropolis to be a fool’s errand, suggesting that they just sit down and prepare for the worst. He also notices that the stranger following the CaD around has returned, but he couldn’t hear what they were saying because their voice kept on shifting and changing, making it impossible to understand much beyond a tone of annoyance.

RECEIPT AS OF: 9/22/01
BARISTA ON DUTY: CARAJILLO
RECEIPT FILED AS: SOL-03
If Lungo cannot save us, we are dead. It is as simple as that. I do not put much stock in the false hope he has given us that there is an escape hidden somewhere in the Necropolis. If he doesn’t already know where it is, what hope do we have in finding it? I suppose the best we can do now is prepare for the inevitable horrible sickness and then sudden and painful death. I have failed not only you but all who were depending on me to keep the flames burning.
And now, to torment us, that stranger returns to spout their nonsense about secrets and Labyrinths. How irritating. We do not have time to mess around with any other meaningless misadventures in the Necropolis. Once we are truly dead and bound to this place, then perhaps we can entertain wandering around the Labyrinth endlessly. Marocchino was correct, though. This stranger reeks of a smell foreign to this place. Though they haven’t been actually burning incense, the smell lacks the depth and beauty of smoke.
I could hardly understand what this stranger was even saying beyond “labyrinth” and “secrets.” It was almost as if their voice was shifting and changing with each word as all meaning from their speech disintegrated like falling ash. Though I couldn’t make out the meaning, their emotions were clear. Annoyance. For whatever reason, this stranger felt slighted by my disinterest in their nonsense. Perhaps they should speak plainly if they wish to be heard. I hardly see how that is my fault.
That’s all.
