SOL01 (Sep 8, 2001)
Summary of Receipt
On their way to the House of Wisdom, Romano is ‘accosted’ by a strange figure talking about how the Labyrinth holds dark, ancient secrets, which makes sense since it’s part of the Ring of Dawn, and many humans from that time are still quite hunter-gatherer in nature.

RECEIPT AS OF: 9/08/01
BARISTA ON DUTY: ROMANO
RECEIPT FILED AS: SOL-01
I was accosted by a very strange figure on our way to the House of Wisdom. I’m not exactly sure what they could’ve wanted from me other than my dashing good looks, naturally. They had a very odd way of flirting. They kept going on and on and on about how the Labyrinth holds secrets. Dark, horrible, and ancient secrets. I would think that to be obvious; it is a Labyrinth, after all. And I can only assume Mistress has placed some horrible things in there.
Not to belittle our ancient ancestors, of course. Though from what I’ve gathered, the further into the Labyrinth, and by relation the Ring of Dawn, one travels, the more… hunter and gather-y its residents become. And to survive in such a fashion, the Labyrinth must be kept full of things to hunt and or gather. So, Mistress has its twisting, turning tunnels filled with creatures and whatnot. Of course, not every resident of the Dawn Ring still ascribes to the hunting and gathering mindset, but most of those groups have moved on to the neighboring Script Ring by now.
So, is it conceivable that the Labyrinth is harboring some horrible ancient secrets? I would be shocked if it wasn’t. However, it’s hardly any of our business, is it? We’re trying to, first and foremost, get the hell out of hell, but also see if we can’t fix the Spire. If our journey takes us toward the Spire to fix it, I guess we could take a look around the Labyrinth. But I’d prefer not to get lost in there if we don’t have to. In any case, keep your eyes peeled for a cloaked stranger rambling on about the Labyrinth and its secrets. I didn’t even get their number!
