THE OWNER
Another month comes and goes—Mais où sont les neiges d'antan? It seems like we've been kept rather busy by Mrs. Aka lately, both directly and indirectly. In rather successful news, #71 was able to cure #35's parent's case of conjunctivitis passed on to them by Mrs. Aka. Additionally, #26 and #17 were able to serve not only one but two customers up in Evergreen—and #53 also managed to pull a… "twofer," as he described it. Overall, it's been an incredibly productive month. Additionally, with the combined efforts of #62 and #44, we've begun cracking the enigmatic shell of our pathetic imitation, the Cafe No Diner.
As for next month's operations and reservations, I suspect we'll be seeing more of S.V. and, consequentially, Mrs. Aka as well. The two are linked by a sworn vengeance, after all. Furthermore, we are still trying to prevent the infiltration of the Long Beach Coffee Market with Nicaraguan beans, as provided by Augustine Sarcophim. If Nicaraguan coffee comes into favor by some unfortunate alignment of the stars and planets… well, it could create a situation of dire gravity. On the other hand… it does open up the possibility of undoing one of the Cafe and Diner's greatest mistakes… No. No. It's best not to mess with the dead or, well, dead enough.
Lastly, we are still dealing with the growing tension between Mrs. Pleasant and Mrs. Middletown. It's hard to say if we should get involved in their little familial affair or not. For once, I fear I don't see a clear path toward success. I certainly don't wish to help Mrs. Pleasant, but equally, I don't want to see Middletown end up divorced, either. And if Middletown does go through with her separation, it's likely she'll do so at the Open Doors Church. Such a scandal might put our beloved friend Padre Santos out of business before we have the chance to put him behind bars ourselves.
