Okay, so I have been thinking about the whole, well, you know, the whole Willow DeWeaver situation. And well, so as I understand it, yes, this is how I understand it, I understand it like this: basically… God made Eden and Eden was a “Utopia,” a, well, yes, a paradise, I suppose. It was, well, it was okay; it was “Gold.” But… Gold, well, you see, gold is very hard to hold. And that HAS to be true because, simply because, it rhymes! And for one thing, gold is very, very heavy. For another, I guess, if you think of gold as being perfection, I do not believe anybody or anything is perfect. It is very hard to be perfect. And when Eden wasn’t perfect, God got rid of it.
We are, I fear, yes, I fear, we are in a situation where we have two roads before us, and there is simply no way to travel both. We could, of course, do nothing. Or, well, what feels to be nothing. We stay on the same road we have always been on, the one that is well traveled sixteen times over and can be traveled sixteen times more—or… Or, we could take a chance on the road less traveled. See, it’s all a bit of a trick, yes, a trick! Because, well, they’re both roads—roads which lead to the same destination. It doesn’t really matter if we take one road over the other because, well, sixteen times from now, very few of us will still be around to see the difference made.
I don’t think that is very helpful, is it? But, I think, well, no, I know that it might actually be very, very helpful!! The roads we have before us, the known and unknown, familiar and unfamiliar, the business as usual and the business as unusual, it does not matter so much because we still have miles to go before we sleep. We all have so many promises left to keep. But it will be the darkest hour before night can give way to dawn. I think, yes, I simply think gold may be too heavy to hold, but it doesn’t have to be held if instead, it can be rolled.
