…Okay, well my arm might be twisted now. We’ve got Aplut fully on our hands, and she is made in the image of none other than Lucy herself. Aplut, aka Jeanne, I guess, is wreaking havoc in Palm Beach, on a scale much worse than anything Thyrs ever did. Luckily, it’s easy enough to sell this to tourists as some sort of freak storm—but I can’t imagine it’ll take long for this freak storm to seriously start freaking people out. Our usual tricks aren’t going to cut it this time, so it’s probably time to consider some more… “unconventional” options. Especially since we’re down half our usual staff.
Lucy. I’ve been mulling it over, trying to find a way around it, but H.R. is right. Jeanne’s greatest weakness is herself. The nature in which she was brought into the Dark. Though, we don’t know exactly how or why the original Owner even brought her into existence. We could try and figure it out on our own… make some wild guesses and hope for the best. I personally think Jeanne was born out of some weird, creepy, pathetic loneliness… but then again, it’s the original Owner. I don’t think he’d be that desperate. I think I need to swallow my pride. Literally.
Lucy owes me one. As much as it grates on me to rely on her to help us fix this mess, she’s the best shot we’ve got at understanding and stopping Jeanne. I wouldn’t cash in this favor if it wasn’t for the safety of our Cafe, of Palm Beach, hell—the whole world, on the line. We need to get inside Jeanne’s head, figure out her weakness, and Lucy might be the only one who can get us the insights we need. So… I’ll make the call. Sometimes, the daughter of the devil you know is the best ally against the raging storm you don’t. Or… something like that.
