BARISTA ON DUTY: RED EYE
RECEIPT FILED AS: DWD-06
Well, I think it’s time I stepped away from this whole Cafe thing myself. Not that it hasn’t been fun, but it’s been more work than I was expecting. I don’t mind sitting behind the scenes pulling strings but having to actually go out to nightclubs and converse with people feels like a bit much. And if Lungo can just sub in a replacement, why can’t I? Yes, I’m not just leaving an empty shift. I’ve found someone who I think is perfect for nightclubs, hat tricks, and encroaching death.
Her Barista name is Marocchino. And I know, I know, I wasn’t too sure if she’d be a good fit, but I’ve slept on it for quite a bit, and I think it’ll still work out just fine. In fact, maybe it’ll work out better this way? Hard to say. I’m just filling seats, after all. You can always fire her if you don’t like her, right 8? Well, unless that’d make things even more awkward than they already are. But, hey, I get it. You get shoved into an uncomfortable space with your ex, and you just have to make the best of it.
Also, I’m not resigning or anything like that. I’m just stepping back. I’ll probably pop my head in every now and then to make sure you’re all playing nice. Just don’t expect me to do anything more than that. I already risked a lot just by doing this much, and I am exhausted as is. Besides, what is the worst that can happen without me? An Apocalypse? Easy enough to deal with. I’ve got faith in you. Oh, and the Cafe too. Good luck, everyone.
