Summary of Receipt

It seems that, in the game, Lungo snagged the Eight of Spades - not the regular poker card, but the Totem. There are eight Totems - cosmic artifacts from the Fifteenth Sphere, the final gambit of the Otherman - that the Wisemen of the Obscure Obelisk Order are trying to find, of which three are in the Cafe and Diner’s possession: The Mug, the Match, and now the Eight of Spades. Lungo suspects that uniting these eight Totems will resurrect the Poet; the Original Owner - they are his, after all. Or they might even grant them the powers of the Otherman, or reveal the Mantle of 8, which would be…interesting. Still, they need to find the Final Note, the 8-Ball, the Sunglasses, Urn and Locket. The 8-Ball is in the hands of Indrid Cold, and - while he suspected the Locket to be with Lucifer, she doesn’t have it. Though he does have some alternate ideas about that. He also suspects the Urn to be with Felix Blackwood in Blackwood Manor’s Teal Room, but has no idea where the others are.

BARISTA ON DUTY: LUNGO
RECEIPT FILED AS: AND-THE-03

A full house hardly beats an 8-high, at least in my books. Keeps another one of the Totems out of the hands of those pesky Wisemen, and it brings us up to three total. The Match, the Eight of Spades, and the Mug. Albeit the Mug technically belongs to Lucifer still. And I never did specify which of “us” I was referring to. The Cafe? The Zulus? The Sons of Ill-Intent? Ah, what a maddening enigma. One that is better left as a secret, at least for now. However, it does beg the question, what can we do with these Totems anyhow?

There are a few things that come to mind. They are eight truly powerful cosmic artifacts. Remnants of a prior Universe. A last gambit of the Otherman, perhaps. I believe, in theory, the Totems could be used to bring the poor Poet back to life. They are his Totems, after all, and they might be the very thing needed to pull his soul back from beyond the veil. And, admittedly, bringing the Poet back into the fold is probably the best play as, in a way, this is his Universe, after all. The Totems could also hold the secrets to the powers of the Otherman. Or… perhaps they might even hold the secrets of the Eight itself. That could be interesting, no?

We would still need to find the Note, the 8-Ball, the Sunglasses, the Urn, and the Locket. The 8-Ball is almost assuredly in the hands of Indrid Cold. I’m surprised he let me walk away with the Eight of Spades. I would assume he knew what he was doing. I suppose Fate did smile upon me for a reason. I had thought the Locket would be with Lucifer, but to my knowledge, it isn’t. That’s curious. However, I have a few thoughts as to where that might be. As for the rest, I have no idea. The Urn might be with Felix? Probably. Ah—if it is with Felix, it would be in the Teal Room, wouldn’t it? That would explain why I haven’t been able to track it down yet. Well, to the House of the Rising Sun, then.
