Clue

Hover over the clues if you require!
Clue 1: Voir is a French word. That's important. Now factor that into the main theme of the Complexity: a Court of law.
Clue 2: What has the Court done to Complexico, albeit preliminarily? What does the Court want to do to him?
Clue 3: The term for 'sending back' in French law.

Answer and Explanation

Answer: Renvoi
Explanation: The word ‘voir’ is French, and the focus is on the Court of Angels, suggesting we need to be looking for a French court term. In addition, the Court wants to send Complexico back, but he’s been set free on a preliminary basis. Thus, the word we’re looking for is ‘renvoi’, which means, literally, ‘send back’ in French.

That is the Complexico I have heard so much about. Renvoi? Really? What an obtuse answer hidden under entirely frustrating double meanings. For those wondering, Complexico’s release from his Cancellation Clause is, at least preliminarily, a renvoi. The Court of Angels would typically have a say over who could terminate it. They were the ones who enacted it, after all. Though Complexico is not native to our Universe and thus plays by a set of different rules to that of the Angels. A renvoi, if you will.

Now, as for the next Complexity in the set… I’m stumped. If only we could phone an ally, though Complexico’s rules were quite clear on outside help. Perhaps there is something to the rhyming words at the end? Stead, Red, Dead, Instead? But what could you possibly do with that? And why would he phrase that first line so… oddly.

“A game—man it is on! Or, perhaps not, ay?
Heck, you practically tore me away!
From what…? Not much, to be fair.
And Complexities are undoubtedly my weak spot.
What would you have me do?
Have Rubeus don a false-suit in my stead?
He might be Red, but I’d rather be dead!
Or, perhaps, he’d die instead?”
