M pa ka kwè sa! I never thought Tonton Felix would teach me another spell. Not because he had fallen in with a power-hungry den of villains but because I thought he had taught me all that he could. Though, this last spell doesn’t fall under the Oath of Zilence, does it? Only the oath of his faith in Jean-Marc, which I would suspect, is firmly at zero now. Well, I know now how to perform the Darkest Hour Signal. A secret only taught those closest to Jean-Marc and those who have held a piece of the legendary Mantle of 8.

Of course, will it work without the power of 8? Hard to say. In fact, such a spell has never been properly utilized before. It exists only in theory, and using it poses the very real risk of losing all connection to magic should it violate a Universal Law. To be clear, it almost certainly would. It is a spell like no other, one that is, by its own design, a last resort of last resorts. It doesn’t violate one Universal Law; it violates all of them at once… and then some. However, clever Tonton Felix did point out the time and place where such a spell could be cast—the Teal Room in Blackwood Manor.

If Jean-Marc and Jack Octo’s Bingo Cult attempt to go through with their plan… the Darkest Hour Signal might just put a stop to it. Then again, it could just be fuel for the fire… or a sheepish bluff without the 8 to back it up. Moreover, should we stop the Bingo Cult? If what Felix suggests is true, it begs the question… whose side are we on? Whose side should we be on? Perhaps Amber is right. Perhaps our best move is to stop playing the game… but now that we might hold a trump card… well, we wouldn’t want to fold before the ante, at least.
