Summary of Receipt
'S' (Sophie, aka Red Eye/Belphegor), the investor mentioned by 8, is attempting to recruit others to the new Cafe. It doesn’t go well, but she manages to come up with 7 candidates in total. Regarding the former First Cafe people - apparently both Nicole and Felix are out, since it would be REALLY awkward with Nicole and Felix is apparently…complicated. The others are all also where they need to be, so no use recruiting them.

She said I was hands-off? Haha... I wish. I don’t think anyone realizes how exhausting it is to be me. Oh well. No peace for the wicked and all that. Which reminds me, there’s no way it can just be us three. And with Mr. Perfect off doing, Bird knows what, we need all the help we can get. Unfortunately, not a lot of options for baristas right now. I mean, I have one in mind. But still, that’s a bit of a skeleton crew, huh? Of course, we could... no, actually, I think VIII is right. We can’t do that. Especially if I’m going to... hm. Ugh. This is all so exhausting...
Again, I feel like I have the hardest job in all of this. Oh well. So just to be clear, Nicole is off the table. For a few reasons, but to save VIII the drama of working with her ex, we’ll just go with that as the main reason. Felix is also off the table, but it’s more complicated than that. I’m not totally sure how I’m going to get from point A to B with that situation, but I’m sure it’ll work itself out. Mr. Perfect is with us in spirit. Uh... Nicole’s brother... he’s doing his own thing as well. And as for the others, they’re exactly where they need to be. Maybe not the weird kid, but I don’t know how much it matters where he is or isn’t. And the next closest fit is... crap. Only 13 right now... and might not even be here yet. Well. Good to have a backup plan in any case.
Ok. I think I’ve worked it out. That should leave us with seven, including myself, and excluding our friends from out of town. Depending on how you choose to count it up, it’ll give us that one number everyone’s really into. Eh, it’ll do for now. I’ll start gathering up the pawns, knights, rooks, or whatever chess piece makes them feel less infinitesimal in the grand scheme of things. Maybe rooks. Rooks are cool.
