Clue

Hover over the clues if you require!
Clue 1: Look at the first three things in the puzzle. Sound familiar?
Clue 2: The three proto-Planes each are tied to two things - their Simulacrum, and their objects, which are metaphors. Look at CD-TLC02 in Debt Come Due for an example.
Clue 3: What they represent is linked to certain aspects of humanity. Take a look at Fire, Skald, and its Simulacrum - refer to CD-PLJ06.
Clue 4: Is there any work that links fire and ice with destroying the world?
Clue 5: In this poem, fire is likened to a certain thing very similar to Jericho Myerscough.
Clue 6: Ironically, it's written by Robert Frost.
Clue 7: In terms of destroying the world, how would Ice fare?

Answer and Explanation

Answer: And Would Suffice
Explanation: The puzzle mentions Fruit, Fire and Water, which is a reference to Eden, Arcadia and Skald. Next, Ice is mentioned along the same vein, and is said to 'destroy the world'. Next, the metaphors of the three 'objects' of the proto-planes. Eden had fruit, which symbolised Knowledge, which was also linked to Joy Livingstone. Skald, or Fire, was linked to Jericho Myerscough, and may have been linked to Passion. Coincidentally, there is a poem about fire, representing passion, and ice, representing hate, destroying the world. The last line of this poem is 'And would suffice'.

Right, well, we had a little reunion of our own, choice? Nothing serious, just some prater about the whole three to become one nonsense. I guess Jules thinks it might be best if Joy went ahead and became one of one something like that. Build things back piece by piece. But Ranoma made a rather important point… nothing gold can stay. No clue what that means for us or our plans, but… well, I reckon it’s got to be good advice.

S.O.T.

Jericho: You’ve seen better days, big boy.

Julius: Hmph. I’m glad you could make it.

Jericho: I heard that I was the first words out of your mouth—well, first words out of your arm.

Julius: That isn’t true.

Nikki: He wrote ‘Joy’ first.

Jericho: Nikki! How have you been, love? You look positively… overworked. Miserable even.

Nikki: Hi, Rico.

Jericho: Yeah. Whatever. So—you didn’t just call me here to see Nikki again, did you?

Julius: No. I wanted to—

Ranoma: JULIUS!!! IT IS SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!! I HEARD THAT, YES I DID, IN FACT, HEAR THAT YOU DIED! I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU BUT THEN I REMEMBERED, YES I REMEMBERED THAT IT IS OKAY! YOU WILL COME BACK AS A DEMON, AND THEN I CAN COME SEE YOU IN THE OTHERSIDE!

Julius: Ranoma. You brought Ranoma?

Jericho: And how would I tell him he can’t come see you? Honestly.

Julius: Fair enough. Anyway, I wanted to—

Daichi: Well! My apologiesss, you did know the way.

Angel: You know I can find any Cafe and Diner employee, right?

Daichi: I sssupose so. Hello everyone! Sssorry we’re late! Took a wrong turn in the Labyrinthhh.

Nikki: Wow. All we’re missing now is—

Julius: Joy. I was getting to that. Serpent, Daichi, if Eden is restored… what happens to Joy?

Daichi: I… am not sssure. It hasn’t been an option in… well… ever. I assume it wouldn’t messss up our plansss. I mean, Skald and Arcadia were never—

Angel: The Otherside is not the Skald, and the Flipside is not Arcadia.

Daichi: Horseshoes and hand grenadesss.

Angel: I don’t believe so.

Daichi: Agree to disagree.

Julius: I’ve been thinking. What if three become one… one at a time. Would that work?

Daichi: I— Well… maybe. I don’t think it had to be all at once.

Julius: Hm. Maybe, then, that has been our constant folly.

Jericho: Daichi’s constant folly. We are usually clued into the plan until it’s too late.

Nikki: I’m not even part of this stupid plan.

Ranoma: Yes, and—

Angel: Nor am I. In fact, have you ever considered that its constant failing is by design?

Ranoma: But!

Jericho: But Fate is dead now, innit?

Ranoma: And, and, and!

Julius: Build it back, piece by piece. Daichi, we can do this.

Ranoma: I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY PLEASE!!!

Nikki: Yes, Ranoma?

Ranoma: Well, okay, so, well, I guess that I’ve been thinking, and that um, that um, maybe it’s not going to work. Ever. I mean, it’s a good plan, it is. And it would be nice to have things back how they were again, and this time as one and not three—but, okay, but I guess what I am thinking is that we know how things were, and even if we can guess how they will be, we won’t know for certain because nothing gold can stay.

Jericho: Nothing gold can stay… So dawn goes down to—

Daichi: —No way.

Angel: Really?

Jericho: Right, we have to go—urgent business—great catching up with the dead. Jules, Nikki, give our best to Seth and such.
