RECEIPT NUMBER: LAN02
RECEIPT DATE: 11 9 1988
MANAGER TITLE: MON AMOUR
RECEIPT NOTES:
Those essences—the ones I felt in-between—they are waiting. Patient, pleading, persistent. They want me to do it. To give them life and form, to Anchor them to our Universe. I see them now even when I close my eyes, flickering at the edges of my thoughts. Half-formed. Yearning. They don’t beg outright—they know me too well for that. Instead, they offer glimpses. Glimpses of what could be if I shaped a world for them. A plane… a plane entirely my own, with its own light, its own rules.
It’s tempting. So, so tempting.
You know how it feels, don’t you? To hold the power of creation in your fingertips. To create is to define. But it’s also terribly sinful… prideful, of course. Not that I’m a stranger to that.
You know, I’ve never cared much for creation—not truly. Perhaps that’s why God entrusted me with the Key of Hubris. It was my act of defiant creation that caused the Universe to bend and curve into the form we know now. And since then? Since I stole the seeds, the flames, the water—I haven’t much cared for creation.
These essences, though… they are something else. They are pure. Unformed potential. Shaped, in part, by the dreams of my sister. But dreams are just that, aren’t they? Until someone makes them real. You’ve made your dream real, mon amour. Perhaps… perhaps I should make mine, too?
But what if I refuse? Would someone else come along and bind them to our reality? Twist them into some tool to be used? Or would they fade away, as all dreams eventually do? I haven’t decided yet. Maybe I won’t decide at all.
I want to talk to you about it first, mon amour, but… I can’t help but worry. You would be one to twist these forms into an advantage against Fate. And it would be a good advantage—a whole new world, with new rules and new powers for Fate to contend with.
But… would that really be fair to them??
