Answer: William Myerscough
Explanation: We’re looking for the person who used to own Ester Hawkins’ ring, since Ester is a she, and it’s his ring. The snake iconography implies a connection to the Ouroboros and this person is also connected to the Tricad (Jericho in particular) as implied in CC-ANTRA. More than that, part of a name, “Will,” is dropped in C-ANTR01.
Summary of Receipt
Professor Hawkins saves Barista by turning back time using William Myerscough’s ring. Apparently, doing so is super risky. Anyway, she managed to spot Cannon and Unseen ambushing Barista. The Profesoor tracked Unseen to Unheard, and then the Nom de Plume managed to recover the Couple and the Mechanism. Somehow. ‘Mevon’, a leader of Nom de Plume, then contacts Big Guy to give the CaD the Mechanism - apparently he thinks that it’ll be safer with the O.C. than with Nom de Plume and its traitor. Still, Barista is fine, though he’ll need more tartrazine (a yellow food colouring??? how does this heal him). Big Guy decides to pass the info Barista mentioned to the T.C.’s 8.

Zach is fine. The Professor was able to save him using Will’s ring. Yes, I can now fully confirm that it is William Myerscough’s ring. No other ring that I know of can literally turn back time. Though, turning back time, even for a few minutes, is incredibly risky. The Professor, of course, knows this, but she felt that the reward outweighed the risk. While I would like to believe she turned back time only to save Zach, that isn’t the case. She specifically turned back time to see exactly what happened to Zach. Cannon attacked him, yes. But Cannon wasn’t alone. With him were his ever-present accomplishes, the Unseen and Unheard. Well, that isn’t entirely true. It was only the Unseen. However, the Unseen’s ability to be unseen does not work as well when chronal manipulation is at play.
With this, the Professor was able to track the Unseen back to where the Unheard was hiding along with The Couple and the Mechanism pieces. How exactly the Society was able to retrieve The Couple and the Mechanism pieces from under the Unseen and Unheard remains a mystery. Though, I know that they did so because only moments later, I was confronted by the leader of the Society of Nom de Plume, “Mevon.” Mevon entrusted the Cafe and me with the Mechanism pieces. Apparently, he is certain that there is a traitor in the Society and that the Mechanism pieces would be safer kept with us. Though I tried to warn him that our location is not exactly a secret from Umbra and the Dark, he assured me that he was more worried about the Society.
As for Zach, he is indeed fine, though the method in which he was saved has not left him entirely unscathed. The Professor is confident he will be fine in a few days with a healthy dose of a chemical compound known as tartrazine. We can apparently find this chemical in various processed foods, though the Professor recommended Juicy Fruit as it helps with the barotrauma. As for what exactly Zach experienced when he was bleeding out… something about the flies, Crow, and a beast. I assume this has something to do with the other Cafe’s current problems. I doubt we have time to look into it ourselves, but I will pass the information along to their 8.
