Summary of Receipt

3311 informs us that Jericho Myerscough is actually the brother of the head of IRIS, Jordan Myerscough. Basically, IRIS is the Court of Angels, but on the Flipside. The Court is the gathering of Angels to maintain the cosmic balance, but sometimes it's not worth it bringing people Topside, so they have a branch on the Flipside - the Court of the All-Seeing Eyes. Anyway, IRIS took over and renamed it to, well, IRIS. Since Jordan Myerscough is in charge, it’s possible that Jericho might end up getting severely punished, or maybe he might be let off, since he did stop the Dark.

Yeesh, an IRIS case already? Shoot, they’re moving right quick with this one. I reckon it’s because of Jericho’s involvement. What with his brother being in charge of IRIS, this doesn’t paint a good look for the Myerscoughs, does it? Strange kid that Jordan Myerscough. Born with that Indigo in his soul. To my count, he’s the youngest of the Indigos runnin’ things. Ah, but here I am shootin’ off my pretty little mouth about things I probably shouldn’t be again. I’m sure diggin’ up Jericho’s family history ain’t gonna win me any points with him. And if the Golden Gate Child incident wasn’t enough, I did just put him up on a blind date with a forest witch. Wonder how that played out with his current girlfriend, if’n they’re even still together.

Now, an interestin’ tidbit I probably can share is that IRIS is basically the Court of Angels here in the Flipside. I’m sure I don’t need to explain what the Court of Angels is, right? It’s the gatherin’ of Angels in the Topside who pass their judgments and what not to keep the cosmic balance happy. Of course, there are times when someone has thrown this balance off, and it don’t make sense to bring ‘em Topside for their trial. So the Angels set up a little something here called the Court of the All-Seeing Eyes. Not only was it a mouthful it was also a bit too on the nose. So back in 1974, when the Indigos “took it over,” they renamed it to the IRIS Company. No clue if IRIS is an acronym or if it’s just to look fancy. Point is, it’s always been described to me as the Indigos liberatin’ us, humans, from Angelic influence, but it sure seems to me that they’re just workin’ together behind the scenes. Always have been.

Anyway, this here trial can go one of two ways as I see it. On the one hand, they might want to make poor Jericho into an example. Maybe they’ll strip him of his magic, or they might even throw him in the dang Black Tide. On the other hand, his brother literally runs the place. In a very explosive way, they did stop Umbra from gettin’ the first bible and learnin’ all of its secrets. So maybe he’ll get a slap on the wrist and some cosmic community service. Either way, knowin’ Angels, somehow our Cafe will be roped into the punishment because, of course, it will be.
