Summary of Receipt
1313 and the Owner confront Aka, Abigail Hawthorne, and Augustine Sarcophim. Aka upholds his deal and returns 35, though the Church seems to have gotten what they needed from her anyway. The Owner, while talking, deduces that Aka's been so active because he technically isn't killing anyone with his games, allowing him to work out of his contract. Xavier's death was, once again technically, outside of a game. Still, the Owner threatens that riddles aren't exactly Aka's domain, and that 'he' has been unleashed. Of course, he's got to find a prize and the right contracts, but still. Aka and his team leave immediately to prepare for Complexico's arrival.

#1313: We beat your game, Redman. Where’s Jenni?
Mrs. Aka: So you did. And with a day to spare. Congratulations.
[The Redman snapped his fingers, and Employee #35 appeared in a plume of red smoke.]
#35: Nikki!
#1313: It’s okay! It’s okay. We’re going to get you out of here, Jenni.
Abigail: You’re losing your touch, Red. I was really looking forward to burning this brat.
Augustine: It doesn’t matter. We got what we needed from the Augur.
Mrs. Aka: Exactly. And I wouldn’t want to attract any undue attention.
The Owner: Is that so?
Mrs. Aka: [The Owner]? I wasn’t expecting to draw you out with this little game. No harm was meant, of course. Your precious employee was never in any real danger.
The Owner: So that’s how you’ve been getting away with it. You can play your games so long as you don’t kill anyone.
#1313: But Xavier...
Mrs. Aka: He was killed outside of a game, I’m afraid. A fiendish loophole, I must admit. Demons are hardly sanctioned from killing humans. But if you are trying to bring me before the Court of Angels, you really don’t have a case—
The Owner: No, we don’t. I didn’t expect we would. You’ve spent thousands of years perfecting your terms. But… you know riddles aren’t actually your domain, Redman.
Mrs. Aka: You didn’t.
The Owner: Oh, I did. Or, well, I had Felix start the process.
Mrs. Aka: Are you mad?! Do you have any idea of the chaos he’ll bring? He could ruin everything!
The Owner: If you’re so eager to play games, Rubeus, you might as well play a real one with some real stakes. And if Satan’s plans can be so easily derailed…
Mrs. Aka: When?
The Owner: When what?
Mrs. Aka: When is he coming?
The Owner: Well, I imagine he must find a suitable prize first. Then the contracts need to be signed. Then the real games can start.
Mrs. Aka: We need to go.
Augustine: What is—
Mrs. Aka: NOW. We won’t have much time to prepare.
