Summary of Receipt

Manager 3 and Employee 1313 talk about 1313’s lack of receipts. Apparently she’s been dealing with strange dreams regarding Manager 0 - namely ‘Blood pays blood and blood alone. Come forth, fire come forth brimstone’ and that he seems to be testing the CaD’s bonds in order to survive…something, presumably their Debt Come Due. There’s also a mention of thirteen (people?) coming and falling in relation to said debt. All of that is also mentioned to be from Fate.

CADCOM CHAT LOG
CHAT BETWEEN EMPLOYEE NO. 1313 and MANAGER NO. 3
MESSAGES SENT ON 4/7/20

No. 1313: I heard there was a fire. Is it dire?

No. 3: I’m not sure yet. I have to meet up with the other managers. Katherine got burnt up pretty bad, though.

No. 1313: Oh dear, I hope it’s not as bad as I fear. She is quite hard to kill, though fire might be her Achille’s heel.

No. 3: Kill and heel? You’re reaching Rach.

No. 1313: Oh, whatever. Is Katherine fine?

No. 3: As far as I know. Travis is giving her some of his blood which I guess heals her. I really don’t get how her powers work. Then again, I don’t think she understands how her powers work.

No. 3: Is everything… okay?

No. 3: By the way.

No. 3: You know, just checking.

No. 1313: Yeah, why?

No. 3: You haven’t penned a receipt or poem in like 4 months.

No. 1313: Oh.

No. 1313: Yeah, I’m. Fine. Besides, doesn’t Miss. Bad have that covered?

No. 3: You know you don’t have to write prophetic poems, right?

No. 1313: Yeah… I’m just… I don’t know. I’m processing some stuff.

No. 3: If you need someone to talk to about it, I’m still here for you.

No. 1313: Thanks.

No. 3: Seriously. I don’t want things to always have to be weird between us. It’s been over a decade since we were together.

No. 1313: I know. And I’m over it. And you’re over it. It’s just… The things I’m processing are… not easy to talk about.

No. 3: Well, I’m here for you if you want to try. Any of us are here for you.

No. 1313: Anyone?

No. 3: Of course, you know that.

No. 1313: Even zero?

No. 3: Uhhhhhhhhhhh

No. 3: I want to say yes… why?

No. 1313: These… “things” I’m trying to process. It’s about him. Or… I guess he’d be the one to talk to it about.

No. 3: Is it like a Fate thing?

No. 1313: In a way.

No. 3: Oh, okay, I see. Yeah, I’m sure he’d like to talk to you about that when he’s back from whatever he’s doing in New Orleans. I can let him know.

No. 1313: Blood pays blood and blood alone. Come forth, fire come forth brimstone.

No. 3: Huh?

No. 1313: What he’s doing in New Orleans. He is testing bonds and strengthening others which he has spun to ensure the day is yet still won. Blood pays blood and blood alone. Come forth fire, come forth brimstone.

No. 3: Huh.

No. 3: OH. WAIT.

No. 3: Really?

No. 1313: Says the words from the ill-fated source, should Fate stay its course. Thirteen come, and thirteen fall for a debt to be paid all-in-all.
