The three Palm Beach members in Russia meet the original person who contained Miss. Crawford (also known as the Pogodnyy Zver’; the Great Dragon of the West), Rasputin. He warns the CaD (and Dovmont, a member of Ozhog) that Crawford has escaped even the Black Tide in the past, and that recontaining it would require a warlock of unclean magics - such as Manager 5. Ozhog agrees to lend the CaD its warp point to get him over there.
