Summary of Receipt
Although Mr. Walker wasn’t willing to betray Satan’s trust and explain what the red book was, merely claiming it’s dangerous, the meeting was not wasted. It appears ‘other loose-lipped strangers’ have already betrayed Satan, so 17’s going to check if his theory regarding that is correct. Anyway, they’re off to the Hotbed now.

RECEIPT #005

We met with Mr. Walker as planned, and I think it went pretty well! Though, unsurprisingly, he wasn't all too willing to give up any major details about Padre or Padre's red book. However, something he said got the gears in #17's head turning. Though he wants to be certain his connection is correct before saying anything. We also found out that Mr. Walker, at the very least, is aware of Padre's plan in Long Beach, or at least that was the implication I got from the conversation. In any case, we're off to Buckeye to help out #62.
S.O.T.
#17: Ah, "Double-D-Kidd." It's a pleasure to meet you. I've heard so much about your dealings with the Devil. Or should I say, Satan?
Mr. Walker: Who the hell are you? Is this some kind of joke?
Unknown Tourist #1: You want us to get rid of these jokers?
Mr. Walker: …No. But leave us.
Unknown Tourist #2: Are you sure, boss?
Mr. Walker: What would this suit and kid do to me? Go. I'll handle them myself.
[Four Tourists left the CaDCom transcription range]
Mr. Walker: Now, who the hell do you think you are coming into my place of business spouting off about Satan?
#17: Apologies, Tom, we meant no disrespect. Though your lackeys, they are—?
Mr. Walkers: Humans. Easier to control. Though I sense you and the kid are humans too.
#17: Guilty. Though we are well versed in matters Other. We didn't come for pleasantries, Tom. We came to discuss a certain red book. A red book of your master, Satan.
Mr. Walker: Red book…? Ah, yes, I believe I know the one. It's not something to be trifled with. The knowledge it contains is dangerous. I doubt a human could even understand it. What could you possibly want with it?
#44: We have a thirst for knowledge.
Mr. Walker: Oh? Is that so? Take it from me, kid. Deals with the Devil don't often go as planned. If I were you, I would sate your thirst elsewhere and leave Satan to his affairs.
#17: So, you know what he's up to then?
Mr. Walker: Hmph.
#17: Perhaps a few dollars could—
Mr. Walker: I don't take bribes. I earn my money fair.
#44: That's not what we've heard.
Mr. Walker: Fair enough. Now, I believe it's time you two left.
#44: But the red book—
Mr. Walker: I won't say another word about it. I wouldn't dream of betraying my lord's trust… unlike other loose-lipped strangers.
#17: Ah. And so, the connections deepen. You have my gratitude, Tom. Though I wonder—
Mr. Walker: I wouldn't. Now, kindly get out. I have loans to lend.
