Hopping Hellfire! What a wild campaign! You know, usually, Stalemate is supposed to be the quiet time of the year in the Hauntaurskald. I was headed there for some thoughtful reflection on the whole "we killed three out of the four Cold," business. Boy, there is nothing like killing an ancient, undying entity. I hope to do it again someday. Anyway, my Stalemate was actually a hoot with my boy, my SON, Travis! We killed all sorts of demons and devils—I haven't had that much fun in such a long time.
And you'd think I'd be worn out after all that excitement, but it's the opposite, gang. I've never felt more alive! More invigorated! I'm so ready for one last hurrah! One last undying elder to kill! Of course, I should see if Nance'll want to tag along, too. I'm sure she'll be itching for some real action after all the Agency work she's been doing. She took on my half of the Actuary work so I could take this little vacation. Heck, they even had her doing ambassador work for the Zulus.
Right! No more Zulus, huh? Or no more Zulus in the Agency. That'll make our work a lot easier. Zulus accounted for over 70% of our "fringe" insurance policies, after all. Turns out Cults and Esoteric Affairs lead to a lot of odd ways to be injured, cursed, or killed. And little Amber is back to just being Amber, right? Are we all just using our normal names now? No more code names or numbers? I think that'll be better. It's hard to strike fear into someone when your name is "No. 26" or "Espresso." But when they hear the name "NED LANGLEY, ACTUARY OF THE UNKNOWN," oh, that'll leave 'em quaking! Especially after the blood bath me and my boy brought Pandemonium.
