Summary of Receipt

Carajillo knocks the beat unconscious by throwing the last bottle of Greek Fire at it, igniting the protodemon’s spores and damaging it until it fell unconscious, if it didn’t die. Nobody’s exactly clear as to whether it’s dead or not, and nobody wants to check. Regardless, he’s confident that they’ll reach the portal soon.

BARISTA ON DUTY: CARAJILLO
RECEIPT FILED AS: C-SIL-04

It was the only way… Though, what choice did I have? We came face-to-face with the protodemon beast lurking in the Labyrinth's depths. My fire wasn’t strong enough to keep it at bay… but the final bottle of Greek Fire seemed to do the trick. The composition of the sacred flame seemed to ignite the creature’s spore clouds, causing it to take considerable internal damage. The beast burned without respite until it seemed to fall unconscious. This gave us enough time to slip past it.

It is unclear if the fire killed the beast or not. I am unsure how easy it is to kill a protodemon. From what Lungo told Romano, they are mortal—in a sense—though they can only be genuinely killed in the abyss they initially crawled out of. I doubt the Necropolis is such a place, but perhaps we’ve ventured far enough below it that we’re now in the Everdark Pits. Maybe that is where these protodemons spawn from, and so perhaps the fire has truly slain the beast. Though, we did not feel the need to check.

We should reach the taglocked portal to the Otherside soon. Then, we can finally be done with this extended and meaningless distraction. I suppose I will do what it takes for Red Eye to uphold her end of our bargain, even if it means coming within inches of death. I would say that I wish never to return to such a wretched doldrum, but I suppose it is my fate to do so one day. But… if we were to return sooner than that… I wouldn’t mind stopping by the Crossroads Ring once more to acquire a fresh bottle of Greek Fire. To bring such a glorious flame back to the Flipside… it would be truly divine.

That’s all.
