Summary of Receipt
Galao herself states that she’s never actually seen a protodemon before - or, if she has, it’s been so long that she’s lived too many lives and she can’t remember them. She says they come from the Eighth Otherside Plane, now lost to time. Even she can barely remember anything of it now, save for its beautiful sky and dandelions. She also suspects that the Eighth Plane’s violent removal ‘twisted’ the protodemons into what they are now, especially since that was what caused the Devil to be imprisoned - and the Devil did create many of the current demons.

BARISTA ON DUTY: GALAO
RECEIPT FILED AS: C-SIL-02
Protodemons… I’ve heard the term before, though I’ve never seen one myself. Or, well, I haven’t seen one in a very, very, very long time. I’m sure at some point I’ve come across one, but between the various lifetimes I’ve lived, it gets hard to remember. Plus, it’s not like they wear a nametag that says, “Hi, I’m a protodemon!” so I’ve probably encountered a few without knowing it too. They are more or less similar to Elders, after all. Though… even by Elder standards, protodemons are allegedly very strange and alien.
It is said that they come from the Eighth Plane of the Otherside, a plane that has been lost since around the beginning of beginnings, the genesis of the Universe. The Eighth Plane has certainly been a source of fascination for many occultists and the like. Unfortunately, there is little I remember of it. It’s been so far removed now that all I really remember about it was its beautiful sky and its endless fields of dandelions. I don’t remember it being filled with horrifying creatures, but I suppose I was young and fairly sheltered.
Though… perhaps it was the violent way in which it was torn from the Universe that twisted those who still lived there into “protodemons.” It would make sense, in a way. There had to be a price to pay to remove an entire Plane, after all. And, in part, removing the Eighth Plane is what led to the capture and imprisonment of my father, the Devil. And it is the Devil who has fathered countless of the regular demons we have now. I wish I could just ask him what happened, but, you know, he’s probably safer behind the Gates of Hell.
