Fine, fine, fine, I get the picture. Bring the Sky back to Eden. Sure, sure. Why not? There probably isn’t a better way to kick off the end of the Universe as we know it, is there? And, I’ll be honest, I do not have a single clue what Loveland was trying to say, but it did convince me in a weird, rambling way. But he’s at least right that it probably won’t matter if Eden is restored or not in another 16 Spheres. Hell, most of us won’t even be around for that—let alone be around when things get rewound.
You know, I’m not even sure I’ll be around in the next Universe. I mean… I think I’d like to be, but it’s not really up to me, is it? Well, there should be an infinite number of cycles that do have a Dover and an infinite number of cycles that don’t. Roughly. Infinity tends to be a lot less infinite in actual practice. Still, I’d hope that there’s at least one cycle in the whatever-future where we can all hang out together still. I’m… really scared of there being an end, and so soon.
Sure, I’ve been alive for at least a few thousand years, and if the Universe wasn’t teetering on the edge of collapse, I could probably kick around for another thousand years… but I spent most of those years alone. And now, I finally have people who want to hang out with me, people who like me, people who care about me! And… I’m scared that’ll all go away. Not that I’ll really be able to tell the difference, I suppose. None of us will, except those who don’t get rerolled. It still sucks though, doesn’t it?
Anyway… I’ve got a Sky to shift back into place. Hopefully, it makes things a little bit brighter for someone.
