Subject: The Daggers

First, Miranda, then Warden—Victoria. What? Am I not good enough for the Daggers? While I don’t know for certain… I believe our “Triple Threat” is still very much a threat even if Victoria is no longer quite herself. I doubt Miranda has forgotten such an important detail of our contract. Perhaps I should remind her? Though that would naturally only end in getting myself killed or hired by the Daggers. Not that I particularly want to work for the Daggers. Or end up dead, of course.

Still, it does bother me. I don’t know why it gets under my skin so much that they’d go out of their way to hire Miranda and Victoria… but not me? Well, I suppose they’ve only hired Victoria now that she is… well, they are, some sort of empty Elder-killing Elder husk. Though I wonder if they tried to recruit Victoria before they became Warden? While Miranda was more than willing to plunge a dagger in the back of the Cafe, I know Victoria would have… well… did in a way… die for the Cafe. They probably did offer her a position, didn’t they?

Well, I can say it does not feel good to be an also-ran, even if it is for a morally grey organization hell-bent on Universal control or whatever it is they do. Surely my knowledge, expertise, and research into the anatomy of Souls would make me a valuable addition to their ranks? You know what? Maybe I will tap into our Triple Threat contract? It’s been a while, 6 or 7 years now, but I’m sure I can find it somewhere. It could be fun to make Miranda squirm a bit—of course, this could end badly for me. It’s never been wise to draw the Dagger’s eyes intentionally, has it?
