Summary of Receipt
Manager 2 mentions that they’ll be introducing a new type of receipt, A- type receipts (Ampersand receipts, similar to C- or CD-), to be seen only by CaD employees. Not us. They’ll put whatever Astoria’s doing in those channels until the Astoria branch, Uniform, Tango and Sierra decide how to sort out the issue.

Back to the Agency. Though this time, I’m not working as a double agent. The funny thing is, even after the whole Muriel-Affair end-of-the-world business, I still got the occasional phone call or letter asking for me to come back to the Agency. While they aren’t a fan of backstabbers, it is the kind of industry they’re in, plus I was a pretty darn good agent. Though I always hoped I would end up in Papa if I came back. Those guys know how to park some cars. And, yeah, when No. 1 approached me with this proposal a few weeks ago, I thought she was drinking hazelnut. But, the more I’ve considered our options, this really isn’t the worst outcome. Plus, we can work out an exit strategy once our debts are paid. I don’t think Astrid or the Agency expect us to stick around forever. Just a year or two.
Anyway, the whole reason I’m writing this receipt is to answer No. 2312’s question in an official way. There have been some questions regarding security and secrecy on both sides. And the answer I can give at this time is that we will be introducing a new category: A. So we now have [D]iner, [C]afe, [C]afe and [D]iner, [D]iner [D]iner, [C]afe [C]hats, and [A]mpersand. And obviously, the CaDComs only have three channels: Cafe, And, Diner. You can find A-level reports in the Cafe channel with Cafe-level security. However, there is the issue of passwords. We tend to use a scatter approach of anti-demon passwords at the Cafe and Diner. Logic puzzles, wordplay, the occasional cipher and trivia, stuff Demons can’t crack, but feasibly most humans can. Astoria requires a higher degree of security. Which does conflict with our Archive project. The whole reason we can have an Archive is that our passwords are reasonably solvable by patrons.
So to put A-receipts on the Archive or not. That is the question. One option is we might be able to swing it with Uniform to keep our normal passwords if they get to highlight our receipts with their black highlighters. Or we can find some sort of password protocol that satisfies Uniform’s strict requirements. We could also maybe wait until the information is declassified. But this is all Archival concerns; for our active Employees, we’ll be using a 2FA system to let you all see the A-receipts in the Cafe Channel. In any case, we’ll have a meeting with Uniform, Tango, and Sierra and see what we can or can’t do. Goes without saying that CaD employees should NOT mention the stuff they see in A-receipts until we know more. Thanks.
