I think I’m going to go ahead with it—the reading, that is. Payroll said she’ll be there to back me up and make sure nothing happens to my physical body, and the Manager and Big Guy both think I should be fine. Ideally, this reading will just confirm that what’s left of Ringan Storm is truly nothing more than residual energy. The best-case scenario is that nothing happens, and we can move on with some peace of mind. However, nothing ever ends up being that easy, does it? There’s a lot that could go wrong with this reading.

The worst-case scenario is that in doing this reading I inadvertently bring the Tulpa back to life or invite the Wicked to take further control of me. Those are two risks I can’t take lightly. There’s also a chance that Umbra takes me being in—er, well, near the Astral Plane as a signal to try and mess with me on his turf. That’s why I’ll have Payroll nearby keeping an eye out for Umbra if things go sideways. She’s immune to his psychonautic attacks, so she could help pull me out. As for the Wicked, we’re actually in a bit of luck as Big Guy and the Manager are both pretty far away. The Wicked doesn’t just want one of us; he wants all three.

Aplut is still a problem, though. I’ll set up a series of protective wards around the area, which should act as barriers to keep any of her negative energy contained. I’ll also use some of the Manager’s energy stabilizing totems to ensure Aplut won’t have enough “juice” to form back into more than a thought—if Aplut is even still here. I’ll use a combination of meditation and scrying techniques to try and psychically link with the possible remains and see if there is anything we can do to help this thought move on. It’s all a calculated risk, sure, but it’s one that I think is worth taking to put this behind us once and for all.

Peace, love, and Joy!
