We… uh… we weren’t planning on that. Any of that. Aplut is… dead? Destroyed? Mm… dispelled, at the very least. New Guy had a pretty good plan, so we were working on setting it up for when the Manager, and hopefully Big Guy, returned. I figured the best way to distract Jeanne would be to trick her using a glamor spell. I was going to make myself look like the original Owner and try to bring her guard down with some much-needed love. I didn’t realize how strong my glamors were… or how desperate Aplut was for her father’s affection.

The second I tested out the glamor, the storm outside snapped into silence, and Ringan Storm was at our doorstep, her eyes wide with longing. From there, it was… well, it was all improv and franticly trying to figure out if H.R. could dispel the Blight-based magic safely on her own. It was a long-ass hour, maybe hour and a half, of talking to Aplut. I could see the cracks forming, both literally and figuratively, as she questioned her existence and purpose. Her “perfect” marble body began to chip and crumble.

We almost thought H.R. wouldn’t have to use the Wicked’s powers at all to stop her. But then… well, the instability that is Ringan Storm kicked in. I don’t remember what I said, but whatever it was set her off. She started to lash out in some sort of desperate fury, and then my glamor broke. Her eyes were blazing with rage and sorrow, and there was no other choice. H.R. tapped into the Wicked’s Blight, and… eugh… Blight Flame is horrible stuff. It twisted and contorted Aplut out of reality, unraveling every last bit of her flimsy and flawed existence.

But the flames didn’t stop at Aplut. They threatened to consume the entire Cafe in their xanthic hallucinogenic inferno. H.R. passed out, and thankfully, the fire died down. She’s okay! Just… worn out. The Cafe’s okay too… Blight Flame doesn’t burn “normally.” But we’re going to have to do a full Wicked cleansing once you’re back, because I can still smell and feel the wall warping around me.

…Sorry we didn’t wait for you. We didn’t really have a choice. It all happened so fast. But… yay? We… did it? I think. If Aplut were to come back now… she’d be even more messed up than she already was.
