Clue 1: A strange hotel, in which the rooms seem to twist and be shuffled around easily, and the elevators lead to completely different floors. Weird, huh?
Clue 2: It's almost like the conventional laws of space don't add up.
Clue 3: Or, perhaps, the conventional laws of geometry.

Answer and Explanation

Answer: Non-Euclidean

It seems that the Hotel is non-Euclidean in nature. Unsurprising, really. The good news is that it CAN be mapped. The bad news is it is very tough to map. The only aspect of the Hotel that seems to be truly “random” is the Elevator. Otherwise, doors that go one way will always go to their destination, assuming you entered them from the proper orientation. The other major issue is that it seems once a hotel room is entered, the Thunderbolt moves to a new room. While it seemed random at first, I believe the Thunderbolt is moving in a predictable pattern. The problem is that even if we know how it moves, we need to pass through a series of doors to “catch” the Thunderbolt, which ultimately moves it again.

I assume there is a solution to the problem. Otherwise, no one can get the Thunderbolt without cheating. Then again, that might be the intended solution. We are also running up against at least four other people looking for the Thunderbolt, Miss. Wednesday, Miss. Satsuki, Miss. Umbra, and an unknown as well. Out of the four of them, I’m most concerned with Miss. Umbra. I’m not sure if Umbra’s movements would trigger the Thunderbolt to move or not. If so, Umbra could find the Thunderbolt by checking all 60 rooms using his non-corporeal form. Miss. Wednesday might also be a problem, assuming he can simply see the future outcome of where the Thunderbolt will be when it’s found.

Assuming we don’t have the time to mathematically figure out where the key will be and what steps we need to take to get there, I have another idea. If all three of us each took a floor and did not open any doors, we could theoretically use the Pearl to narrow down where the Thunderbolt is currently, where it should be next, and then use the door that it corresponds to. It will probably take some trial and error, but it’s worth a shot. The only problem is our CaDComs are hit or miss in this Hotel. Seems like we can send messages out fine, but messages aren’t coming into us, and we can’t send messages between each other. So… we’d need a minimum of one other “player” to use the Elevator to convey information between the floors. Maybe… the bellhop? Though, I worry that asking the bellhop for help will alert Miss. Guile to plans. Well, what’s the worst thing Dolos can do to us? Reset time again? Mm. Actually, probably exactly that. Well. It’s worth a shot at the very least.
