How very strange. Miss. Keightley was hiding behind the Hidebehind this whole time. She is a very powerful and dangerous shape-shifting Blooded Demon, loosely associated with the Morningstar. While not directly related to the likes of Mr. Trigano, Mrs. Pleasant, or Mrs. Middletown, it would seem Miss. Keightley has taken a strange fascination with this “war” that is brewing. If she is to be believed, it will determine if Cain, the first demon of the Hauntaurskald, shall attempt to overthrow Satan, its Simulacrum. However, Cain and Satan are far too busy to wage this war directly—so it would seem to have fallen to their underlings: the Mothman and Snallygaster.

S.O.T.

Miss. Keightley: You arrived rather fast, didn’t you [#17]?

#17: Always eager to make a connection.

Miss. Keightley: As am I. How fortuitous!

#17: How’s your mother?

Miss. Keightley: Dead, I imagine.

#17: Dead? Mm… how dead?

Miss. Keightley: Dead enough.

#17: Scale of… 1 to 10.

Miss. Keightley: 1 being low?

#17: Sure.

Miss. Keightley: 9.

#17: I see. Well, that explains it—how is Mary?

Miss. Keightley: Oh, you are good! But tell me this: why did I want to speak with you? Hm?

#17: Your house—Your family’s house, to be more precise?

Miss. Keightley: Sharp guess, but no, actually. The house is… I don’t know. I don’t really care. I’ve never personally needed it. Take another swing.

#17: Hiding behind the Hidebehind, it’s to do with the Snallygaster, then?

Miss. Keightley: Well, that’s half of it. None of our business, of course, but… mm… it’s troublesome, isn’t it? A big old war between the Enochs. Not good. Of course, the Enos are doing what they can to stop it, but… ah… it feels inevitable, doesn’t it? Half ally themselves with Lord Satan, while the other half ally themselves with Master Cain. What do you think, [#17]? Do you think they could actually do it? Overthrow the Hauntaurskald?

#17: It is a plane of endless turmoil, is it not? Hardly surprising there is a power struggle.

Miss. Keightley: Fair enough. Eh… but Satan… yegh… he’s not really too concerned with it, wouldn’t you say? He seems more focused on this… Anathema Proxy of his. That was the other half of it. I wanted to see it for myself. Such a strange phenomenon—*in plena sin.*

#17: What are you getting at?

Miss. Keightley: Oh? Nothing. Never am. Anyway, who do you think will win?

#17: Between Satan and Cain? Satan, obviously—

Miss. Keightley: No, no, between brothers, of course! Between the children of Enoch. Between the Mothman and Snallygaster. That’s where the war will be decided. So long as Satan has his pet moth, Cain wouldn’t dare to attack. Though, with his own precious power-hungry grandson…

#17: Mothman.

Miss: Keightley: My, you are certain, aren’t you? Now, why is that?

#17: Oh? Nothing. Couldn’t be, could I?

Miss. Keightley: Ceartas na cleire ri 'chèile—is cuagach ceartas an eucoirich. Fine. Turn off your CaDCom. I don’t want this to come back to me.

#17: Naturally.
