Summary of Receipt

Sahir Bali replaces Victoria Ward as Employee 71. He’s helped find a willing donor of an arm for Manager 4 - on one condition. The demon who’s fine donating the arm wants the Scepter of Mammon. Since Mammon is currently encased in gold, they won’t face opposition that way, but the CaD will still need to actually find the Scepter. Still, Manager 4, Manager 5 and Manager 6 can probably handle that.

Salutations, Cafe and Diner. It is good to be back. Ah, but I suppose introductions, or reintroductions, are in order. I have been asked by No. 2 to fill in the recent vacancy left by Victoria Ward. Some of you certainly already know me, but many of you are new faces, new connections waiting to be made. My name is Sahir Bali, the former Employee #17 of the first and original Cafe and Diner. I know real names are dangerous in this business, but if you don’t know me yet, you should, for I am a name to know. It is worth noting that I will not be working for the Palm Beach Branch as Victoria once did. Magic has never been my “thing.” So, No. 17 and myself have switched places. Terribly confusing, for many reasons, though that is the nature of our business, yes? To confuse, to obfuscate, to serve the darkest blends of coffee.

I have, however, been assisting the Palm Beach Branch and the Pathologist, Hearse, in finding a suitable donor for No. 4’s operation today. It’s been quite a tricky puzzle to solve. See, most demons don’t have arms to spare. And those who do aren’t typically in the market, so to speak. However, this is exactly where I excel. And, as you can imagine, I know a demon. For confidentiality’s sake, I can’t name our donor directly. I’d hate to run afoul of imaginary HIPAA. Or, more accurately, I’d hate to run afoul of a demon who is willing to sell a literal arm and/or a leg to us.

Yes, the limb did not come free. Nothing ever does. However, I feel the price is well within reason. Our donor has requested something extra shiny for her roost. The Scepter of Mammon, Prince of Greed. On a normal day, this would be a rather large task. Although seeing as Mammon is currently encased in gold and could do very little to stop us from taking said scepter, I took the deal. We have four months to figure out how we will acquire such an item. But I assume No. 4, 5, and 6 can handle that task. At least, once No. 4 recovers.
