HORRORS CASE NO. 5
I never said Leviathan wasn’t a threat, only that I have yet to experience the same malice from him C.C. and Mr. Unknown have. I do wonder what that common light we’ve seen is. I’ve been talking with C.C. outside of the receipts, and we both agree that whatever that light is, it’s deeply important. Looking upon it brings a deep sense of awe and reverence, something which resonates down to our very cores. And, yes, C.C. and I have been comparing our dreams further in person. While we may have differing experiences, C.C. is correct that we have little control over the influence our subconsciousness plays on how our dreams play out.
I think the largest difference between our dreams, and the most important one, is that I have lucid dreams while C.C. was having uncontrolled nightmares. The events that we’ve been witness to would likely play out differently depending on the context of dream vs. nightmare. As for why C.C. experienced nightmares, I believe it might have to do with our Mr. Unknown. That isn’t to say we can’t trust Mr. Unknown’s cry for help. Anytime a foreign dream enters your own, it is often an unpleasant experience. Our sleeping mind craves control, and there is none to be found in the dream of another.
However, I fear we will get nowhere discussing dreams alone. We need to take more direct and conscious action. While our fledgling Cafe is in no position to go and demand answers from the Demon Prince of Envy himself, we may not need to. I remember reading of a particular method of tapping directly into the threads of Fate. I’ll need to search through my notes and personal book collection to find it again, but that might be a more neutral method of getting a competitive advantage in the Coffee Business.
