Well, how about that. Just like that RRBT said—turns out all it takes to get rid of an Apparition is a Banishing Sigil. I’m not sure if the Palm Beach Branch whipped this one up special for our new ghostly customers or if it’s just a run-of-the-mill stick-and-poke type sigil, what have you. Never seen one like it before—then again, I never worked much with Sigils back in November. Dealing with Elders is a whole different process that always boiled down to Flush ‘Em. But I reckon it doesn’t much matter, long as it works—and it sure as heck did.

Me and No. 611 headed back over to Collyer Brothers Park, seeing as No. 53 and No. 161 flat-out refused to return. Just like those two yellow-bellies, we saw the Collyer Brothers popping in and out of reality, trying to jump-scare and the like. I’ve seen worse. Besides, the RRBT said Apparitions are mostly harmless—and a bit, well, worthless—so I wasn’t too worried. All they do is relive their last moments on an endless loop. Sure, it’s right unnerving, but it ain’t dangerous none.

Then No. 611 handed me the Banishing Sigil, drawn up by No. 6 (thank ya’ kindly, by the way), and even though I ain’t much for magic myself, it worked like a charm. Either that, or it didn’t do a damn thing and the Collyer Brothers just decided to take an extended break from popping in and out of the Achegloom and Flipside. Truth be told, that works for me too. It was their house, after all. I reckon ghosts have a right to haunt their own place. We’ll keep an eye on it, but as far as I’m concerned, this tab’s settled. I’ll have No. 53 finish up the “paperwork” and such. She’s gotta face her fears sometime and I reckon I’ve got an idea on how to do just that. Can’t serve customers if’n you’re afraid of ‘em.
