Summary of Receipt
The CaD run into Leonardo da Vinci talking to a Castellan of Asmodeus about how the Spire can be improved on. If they have the time to add more ‘channels’ to its base to diffuse the energy needed for the portals, the Spire won’t crack further, but since it’s already splintering they don’t have enough time to fix it. The CaD offers their help, and the Castellan suggests using a really hot substance to melt the fractures of the Spire back together, much to Carajillo’s interest.

Apparently, Virgil, Cicero, (maybe Caesar?), the Saints, Al-Khwarizmi, Al-Kindi, and da Vinci are all part of some sort of “Order.” Not sure what the Order’s name is or what they do specifically, but it seems like they work to keep the balance of the Necropolis in place. Cool. We also came across one of Mistress’ Castellans, who said he could fix half of the problem facing the Spire if we can find some way to fix the structural damage that has already occurred. Apparently, by the time they add the proper channels for Mistress’ energy to flow, it’ll be too late, and the Spire will collapse. Unless… we can find some way to melt the Spire back together as a temporary fix.
Leonardo: Well, it needs more than just a physical repair. It is a form of art and science, no?
Castellan: I concur entirely. The Spire is more than a mere structure. And this wouldn’t even be the first repair I’ve had to make for it. We need more external pathways for the energy to better flow—ah, we have guests.
Galao: Leonardo da Vinci and…
Castellan: Merely a Castellan of Mistress Asmodeus, lady Lucifer.
Black Coffee: We were sent here by Al-Kindi—
Marocchino: Who we were sent to by St. Augustine, who we were sent to by Virgil. Please tell me you’re our last stop. What can we do to fix the stupid Spire?
Castellan: Ah, straight to the point. I love it. I was just discussing with Leonardo the need for more channels. The Labyrinth below the Spire serves many purposes, including acting as a conduit between the Spire and the Necropolis.
Leonardo: If we can add more channels—
Castellan: —We can allow the Spire to better diffuse the energy needed for our Mistress' current plans.
Leonardo: However… the damage has already been done. The Spire has already begun splintering. It needs repairs in addition to additional channels in the Labyrinth.
Castellan: The Order can take care of creating new channels. But… based on the current level of splintering, we won’t have enough time to add new channels and fix the damage.
Leonardo: Our best bet would be to focus on the Labyrinth and hope we can finish before a total collapse.
Galao: We can try to repair the damage.
Castellan: Is that so? Well, fantastic!
Black Coffee: What do we need to do?
Castellan: Not a clue. The material the Spire is made out of is similar to obsidian, if that helps. If I were the one to repair it, I would find a way to melt the fractures. Though you would need something that could burn very, very hot.
Carajillo: Well… this just became interesting.
