Ugh, she’s an Augur? Really? On the one hand, having an Augur on the team would be really, really useful. If Peppermint is sort of like our No. 210, and Vanilla is more or less our No. 614… we could still use a No. 311. I mean, I know I certainly can’t see into the Otherside or explore the Astral Plane. Maybe I could convince Peppermint to take up psychonautics… but then that would cut into his whole “head of investigations” thing, wouldn’t it? And even worse, it’s not like the Sunshine City is overflowing with Augurs or anything. She might be the closest Augur we have in a 250-mile radius.

Which means… Ugh. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Fine. I’ll bite the bullet and see if K.E. is at all interested in joining our new Cafe and Diner. If she is actually an Augur, it’s best if we get to her before the New Dawn Coven does; last I heard, they were looking for a new Augur or two. The Decodex Society probably has more than enough Augurs at their disposal to not have to settle for someone like K.E. [no offense… maybe some offense]. I could also see her falling with the Coterie, which would be bad news for everyone.

I’m not going to force her to join us, though. And, to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if she just laughed in my face at the mere suggestion of working together. On the other hand, if K.E. really is some type of Augur, it would certainly explain some of the strangeness that has always followed her around. It doesn’t undo the sleepover from hell—but… if she wasn’t just trying to make my life miserable and it was actually uncontrollable latent Augurish powers… I can maybe look past it.
