I probably could’ve gone without seeing that, TBH. Wow. That was messed up. I mean, I’ve seen a lot of gross & gory things in this line of work, but that was esp rough. Those flies were not going easy on that poor Tommyknocker. Makes me feel a little bad about complaining about the little bites the flies gave me earlier. Only a little bad, though. Those bites seriously hurt, even if they were more like zaps or whatev.
I think the part that’s really getting 2 me, though, is that if those flies r doing what they’ve been doing 2 other things… that means they ate not only the Tommyknocker’s body but its soul, too, right? That’s… IDK. It’s messed up. That’s 4 sure. But, without a soul, what happens next? As I understand it, when a human dies, their soul reincarnates as a demon in the Otherside, and then when a demon dies, they reincarnate as a human again in the Flipside. There’s also a chance a soul will “pass on,” but no one knows what that is, how it’s done, or if u even want it to happen 2 u.
But if flies eat ur soul… then what? Is it like an instant passing on? Or, like 224 felt, is that Tommyknocker soul now trapped w/ all the other fly-eaten souls in San Fran? And if it is… is there even anything we can do to… IDK… save them? Idk. The whole thing just gives me chills, ig. At least we’re heading home today. This whole order has been very dark & gloomy, & seeing THAT did not help lighten the mood at all.
