Summary of Receipt
3311 warns the CaD not to trust Amsaim too much, on account of her being a Shadowfolk and thus not to be trusted at all, since they're not a negatively-stereotyped species but regular people twisted in some 'sinister business'. He also compares Amsaim to Charlotte - ex-44 - and to the 'Deep Sleep', an Elder he dealt with a long time ago.

RECEIPT: MRSAMSAIM04
STATUS: OPEN
That there miasma monster is mighty creepy. And trust me, I’ve seen creepy. Reminds me a lot of this one nasty son of a gun I had the displeasure of dealing with, the Deep Sleep, back in the day. ‘Course the Deep Sleep is sleeping mighty deep these days. Well, that, and the Deep Sleep was an Elder. This Mrs. Amsaim ain’t one of them, as far as I can tell. She’s just one of those shadowfolk types. And while their sableblood does make them seem unkillable, that ain’t the case. They’re just harder to kill. Point being, we kinda have to do what this Gloom fella wants us to do because I’m not about to get into a spittin’ match with a shadowfolk. Not without a better plan, at least.
Don’t get me wrong though, I don’t trust Mrs. Amsaim as far as she can stretch. Nothin’ against shadowfolk mind you, I’m sure there are plenty of nice well-meaning shadows out there… I’ve just never seen one personally. See, shadowfolks aren’t a, well, how would you put this, they ain’t a species like Cryptids, Demons, or Humans. They became shadowfolks cuz they got right twisted up with some sinister business. Which does tend to make the whole lot of them sinister all the same.
Now… I reckon I shouldn’t just dance around the obvious here. Charlotte. Ex-44. Whatever you want to call her. I think there’s still some debate about whether or not she was or was becoming a shadowfolk herself. Can’t really ask her now, though, can we? But assuming y’all remember what she tried to do to us—hell, what she did do to some of us—I think that might put my view of shadowfolk into perspective a bit. Still, this Gloom lady seems personable enough. As personable as a shadow can get. We’ll play along with her fly chase for now, but things might go ’72 on us if she ends up betrayin’ us.
Eh, I’ll keep y’all updated either way.
