Summary of Receipt

323 is unable to find Bartlett in the House on Dracula Drive. He’s likely gone to the rest of the Phantom Lane. 323 proposes attempting to take control of the House, and being able to use it on more days than just Wednesdays. Of course, this might anger Phantom, but it’s entirely possible that the House is a seperate entity within the Phantom Lane, and not something created by Phantom. He decides to go to 71 to figure out more.

Well… No sign of Dover in the House. Sorry, No. 5. I mean, he might be somewhere else in the uh… outer parts of the House. “The Phantom Lane,”… I guess. Still trying to wrap my head around the whole concept. I knew there was an outside to the House when it wasn’t Flipside, but I’ve never really thought about exploring it. When I first got control of the House, I tried throwing something outside in the Phantom Lane, and I’ve never seen that mug again. So I’m guessing the House doesn’t have a static location within the Phantom Lane. And, hey, there’s a decent chance Dover might have been in the House and left, and now it’s in a different spot. Downside is that the Phantom Lane as it’s a pretty big place. I can recheck the House next week, though.

That’s the funny thing about the House. Only shows up in the Flipside on Wednesdays, right? I’ve been wondering, does that have to be the case? I mean, I think using the House as a means of travel would be wildly impractical, and I know that No. 1 has already sorted out our travel problems. Still, it’d be nice if we could have access to the House and, by extension, the Phantom Lane whenever we needed it. Having unlimited access to an indestructible, seemingly infinite pocket dimension would be cool. Plus, if I could control the House, I’d probably feel more confident in exploring the Phantom Lane a bit and, who knows, maybe I’d find Dover in there.

I guess the main concern is that the Phantom Lane is… literally part of the Phantom itself. And there’s a good chance that the Phantom doesn’t want us using it as a storage locker or overstaying our welcome. But while the Phantom Lane is part of the Phantom, I don’t think the House actually is. I’ve been thinking about it lately. The whole goal of the Phantom is to “open doors,” but who’s to say the Phantom created the doors? What if the House is an entity in of itself? I’ll have to do some research into that… and actually, I think maybe I should head down to Sunshine to meet up with No. 71, seeing as she is connected to this whole thing too.
