Ugh! It's not even worth trying to rhyme. Why. Does. She. Keep. Looking. BACK! Seriously, No. 3! We are THIS close to escaping this infernal Descent. THIS CLOSE! Orpheus is certain that the Descent starts at the mouth of the River Lethe—intentionally so. It was the first trap laid by Hades. Of course, Orpheus knew better than to fall to its tricks, and so do we, except for No. 3! Unless my notes are being distorted somehow, this will be our twentieth attempt to reach the Palace of Hades, and the past 19 times were thwarted because No. 3 couldn't help but look back. It's infuriating!
UGH! I'm seriously over this. Of course, OF COURSE, I got stuck with No. 3 and not No. 7. Look—I haven't hated working for her. I haven't. I'd be lying if I said I did. But I'd also be lying if I didn't mention how… how… UGH! How childish she still is. After all these years, after all this time, after stopping Umbra, after stopping Al Crow, after stopping Le Loyon—Gah, I would have hoped she'd grow up just a little bit. But, no, I guess no matter how much she—we—go through, she'll always just be… her. She'll always somehow manage to look back when all she needs to do is look straight ahead. And for what?! WHY?
If we could just blindfold her, we would. Orpheus has said it's not a good idea, not this close to the Cave of Hypnos. We have to keep our eyes open, or else we risk falling into a deathless sleep. Well, I guess most nights of sleep are deathless—but I believe he means something closer to a coma. Sleeping, not dead, but certainly not waking up anytime soon. At this point, it might make more sense for us to just go up the Descent and out. Orpheus claims that if we were to turn around, we would find ourselves in Asphodel soon… but then what? We need to find the Helm of Hades, and I doubt it's just sitting in the great meadows of the dead.
