Explanation: The Nutcracker and the Mouse King is a famous E. T. A. Hoffmann work, which inspires Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, and more specifically the Nutcracker Suite.

Right then, whether or not this Drosselbloke is or isn’t in the Dark doesn’t matter, choice? We know that he ‘as Daedalus’ blueprints of the Mechanism. We need the Mechanism, ergo we need Drossel, simple as. Though I do concur with the Gate o’ Hell. He’s absolutely working for the Dark. I wouldn’t be surprised if Umbra’s the one who put ‘im up to stealin’ the blueprints from Daedalus. What a waste. Donkey ears of studying under one of the wisest demons in the whole Otherside down the bloody drain to work for the heap of coke, Umbra. Sad.
The one problem we ‘ave now is that assuming Drossel IS workin’ with the Dark, he’d prolly be hiding out in the Dim Den with George Best of ‘em. And we don’t happen to know where that Dim Den is, do we? So we’ll need to lure out Drossel somehow. And that might be right hard to get done, seeing as we ‘aven’t a Pearly Queen of him yet—and we wouldn’t have even known about him had New Guy not run into his master. He’s clearly not much for makin’ appearances. Doubt he’s much of a scrapper.
Even if he could teach us to Read and Write, if the House’ll let ya’ Umbra is keeping him on a tight leash. It would be a right shame to lose someone who can bring out the Porridge Knife AND who can possibly build him a Jack Jones Mechanism. Ah, pony ‘n trap. PONY AND BLOODY TRAP! He has the blueprints, doesn’t he? He’s probably been working away at making a Mechanism specifically for Umbra. Then again, don’t know why he’d need Gemini and Cannon to chore up the pieces… unless this Drosselmeyer isn’t all he’s cracked up to be. Either way, we need to get this toy-enchanting Fireman Sam role out of the picture and fast. Gemini’s been a handful and then some, and from what Barista’s told me, they aren’t even the strongest pitch ‘n toss in that game.
