As if this coffee couldn’t get any more bitter… I’ve just received word from a contact in the Hollow of Esterskald. Beelzebub and Belphegor have gone missing. Sure, we could take Belphegor’s word that she and her brother simply fled to stall Eve’s plans, but where would they go? The Sagradopto Entity? The Topside? ...Beyond the Universe? There aren’t many places left for them to run. Then again, she’s the Prince of Time, and he’s the Prince of Space. Together, they could slip just about anywhere, to any Cycle. Infinity is a pretty vast place to hide.
But with both Beelzebub and Belphegor gone, that leaves two Planes completely Princeless. Thankfully, the Morningstar and Necropolis are still under some control with Purson and Black Queen Cole in charge. Mayda should also hold up fine with Leviathan’s Horrors keeping order. The Ouroboros seems stable for now, its time-wards intact, and a few dozen Ouroborians—if they even bother—can handle themselves. But I’m more worried about the stability of the Hollow and Esterskald.
There’s a reason Beelzebub rarely leaves his Plane. The ravenous creatures in the green of Esterskald only keep the peace because of the grand feast. Without Beelzebub to oversee it, things could spiral fast. Most of the cryptids that slip into the Flipside come from Esterskald already, and without a steady food source, they’ll start pushing through the boundary lines, hunting for their next meal. We need to find a replacement for Beelzebub, and fast—but it’s not like we have another Nikki waiting in the wings, ready to take on the role of a Prince.
Speaking of Nikki… we should probably check on her too, given the current state of the Otherside.
