Something’s definitely going down. I just got back from Vile City in the Hauntaurskald—long story, don’t even worry about it—but Satan’s not there either, and no one seems to know where he is. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s off in Eden with Mammon. And with Satan missing, the vultures and vipers are already circling, trying to seize control of the city and the Greater Trenches of Pandemonium.
Obviously, Cain’s making another play for the throne, though he’s being a bit more cautious this time. Satan could pop back up any minute. But Cain’s got some serious competition. A bunch of lesser cults, clubs, gangs, and ex-military factions are quietly asserting their authority over the Plane. So far, it’s been mostly bloodless, but things are starting to get messy. It won’t take much to set off the powder keg. I know it’s not really our problem right now, but I wouldn’t mind checking in—make sure things don’t blow up, you know? The Hauntaurskald is freaky, but nothing there can do me too much damage. Might as well help where I can, right?
On the bright side, with Satan missing and El Coco, Ördög, and La Diablesse dead, Long Beach is finally getting back to normal! Well… mostly normal. Satan really messed with the tourists, infusing them with his blood. If I had to guess—and if Satan is planning to die to forge the Key of Misanthropy—then maybe all these humans walking around with his blood could be a way for him to reform, even after he’s used to unseal the Gates of Hell? Not that I know much about Blood Magic, but it seems possible, right? Maybe the Agency should look into diluting or diffusing the blood Satan left behind. Just a thought!
