Summary of Receipt
Espresso and Doppio confront the Sandman, named Morpheus, or Mrs. Ballard, who reveals that he’s been the one putting those sigils everywhere. He also hints that he only provides the ‘taglocks’ while ‘he’ provides the portals before sending both of them to sleep. As both of them fall asleep, Mrs. Weyer appears and addresses the Sandman before the transcript cuts out.

Doppio: What brings you so far from your home in Paramnesia?
Mrs. Ballard: It is… not a crime… to expand one’s canvas. Is… it?
Espresso: …Canvas…? Creeping cryptids! You’re the one who’s been marking up the city with all those sigils!

Doppio: Sandmen didn’t use to bring nightmares, did they?
Mrs. Ballard: That was so long ago. The world has changed. People don’t dream like they used to.
Doppio: Fine. Why are you making the portals?

Doppio: Who?
Mrs. Ballard: I’m not at liberty to say.
Doppio: Well, if you’re not going to—
[Mrs. Ballard waved its hand, putting Doppio into a nightmare-filled sleep.]
