Clue 1: So what's the 'narrowed-down' term for a Sandman?

Answer and Explanation

Answer: Mesoslum
Explanation: In C-BMAD04, it says “We really need to narrow it down a bit. Which I’ve done. You’re welcome. I looked into it, and Sandman is a colloquial Morningstarian name for these demons. Their more “proper” name is “Mesoslum.””

Ghastly gosh, another type of ancient Elder? I guess I never thought of it that way! To be fair, I don’t think of Sandmen, or Mesoslums, very often. They’re very, very rare in the Flipside. And even when they do manifest here, you’ve only got a .0001% chance of being killed or seriously injured by them. Like Doppio said, they’re dangerous, sure, but only while you’re asleep. And unlike the dream magic used by the Hatman or Night Hags, it’s very unlikely to kill you without a preexisting heart condition or an already dangerously high bed.

Well, ancient Elder or not, we’ve gotta send this guy packing. Though, with him being a bit more than a regular demon, it does complicate things. I guess the best course of action would be to confront that nightmare-weaving wraith and see if we can’t reason with him. If he ended up in the Flipside by accident due to Mistress’ portals, he might even appreciate our help in getting back to the Crags in Morningstar. Worst case, he puts me to sleep, but I’d like to see him try!

Though, if I do end up falling asleep, it’d probably be safer to bring along a double to make sure he doesn’t try any funny business. And I can’t think of a more appropriate double for an Espresso than a Doppio! Me and my gorgeous hellraiser will try and track this Mesoslum down tonight. Luckily, being from the Morningstar—or, uh, well, living in the Morningstar, it makes the Sandmen pretty luminous. And, seeing as he only comes out at night, it’s a match made in hell! Just gotta follow the brightest thing moving around in the sky, and that should be our Sandman!
