They want names like Mustang and Cheetah, vicious animal names.” Okay, it was ENTIRELY worth putting off the Espresso Affairs for another month because do you know what I got to do?? Yep! That’s right! I met freaking HADES. THE HADES. The GUY WHO RUNS THE UNDERWORLD. Er, well, ran the Underworld. I guess that’s more Nyx’s thing now. Anyway! I got to hobnob with HADES. And let’s just say some interesting things were learned.
Of course, I can’t just drop a full transcript here. No, no, no. That would make this TEA and not just a measly little C. But I think I can probably recount what we talked about, and I can get more in-depth about it later. Next month. When No. 7 and I really start to tamp down the grounds and get into our Espresso brewing. I promise. I swear. But Hades did confirm some of the things we already almost sorta knew about, mainly how he ended up trapped down here with his brothers—Chrysus.
Apparently, Chrysus is some barely named minor god of gold and one of Zeus’ many, many children. Moreover, he somehow orchestrated a grand, elaborate scheme that brought Zeus and Poseidon down to the Underworld. He then demanded the three fragments of the Olympian Antekey, and the Gods refused. When the Gods wouldn’t give up their key, Chrysus sealed off the Underworld from Mount Olympus. Then he shoved them down into Tartarus, which made them give up their fragments for fear that having an Antekey down in Tartarus might just unseal it. If Tartarus was unsealed it would allow their parents, the Titans, to return and wreak havoc on all of Olympus. But the Gods knew better than to give in to the suspicious shiny man who tricked them, so they tossed the fragments to Nyx, who then exiled Chrysus from the entire Plane.
Andddd… now they’re trapped here. I wonder if Nyx has been trying to get them out or… if she’s just content to rule things? Hades didn’t seem to know himself.
