MR. LADOUCETTE CASE NO. 4

C.C. brought me a few specks of the powdered Jackalope antler so I could analyze its Blood Signature. Even just this small amount caused the CaDCom to crash and reboot no less than five times, and I rolled my ankle trying to recalibrate it. So, I think it goes without saying the 5 grams we have stashed in DeForest Park should be handled with extreme caution. Anyway, here’s the makeup of the Jackalope for our records:

0.023L 0.825M 0.118S, +5.2515B, +21.453BB, 0.1549LE, 0.1472A 0E 0EE 0EEE

I know, I know, more numbers. Great. These ones are pretty interesting, though, as it’s the first reading I’ve seen where a) all the numbers are positive, and b) single-B actually has a reading. I wonder why that is. I don’t feel like I know enough to speculate on it, but the main takeaway is that the Jackalope is pretty clearly tied to Beelzebub, as the old CaD files suggested. I want to figure out a more meaningful way of interpreting these readings, but I feel like I can’t do that through tech alone. I might need to start cracking into some more esoteric texts—though I wouldn’t even know where to begin with that stuff.

In other news, C.C. had asked me about a way to use the CaDComs as a communication device. The functionality is there, though it’s linked up to a server that’s no longer online. I’ve started working on an app that should connect our phones to the database so we can basically have our own text chats get registered as receipts, encryption included. A.I. and S.W. are going to let me test it out on a series of texts they had a while back that I think would fit nicely as a sort of “pseudo” receipt. Once I can get the CaDCom to register their messages, we should be able to send texts conversations directly to our CaDComs.
