Horrible little doll. Floridian "royalty" or not. I, like the Manager, am not pleased that we are housing this creep. H.R. and Payroll feel differently. H.R. has an endless and often over-optimistic sense of compassion and Payroll… she just likes a project. Obviously. However, we have begun to learn of Robert's unique role within the Dark and, critically, many of the Dark's greater secrets. He could just be lying, though often lies hide truths. Besides, you have to expect some coffee working in this business.
Apparently, Robert uncovered the Redman attempting to recruit at his co-owned nightclub, Last Sunset. The two began to talk, and soon enough, Robert was taking the Dark's "test" himself, and apparently, he passed rather easily. Robert is convinced that the test is actually a ruse and that the Dark hires well in advance. They wanted him for his easy access to the Necropolis and his knowledge of possessions. He agreed to work with them in exchange for one of Umbra's "seeds," which would allow him to manifest a body of his own. However, as time went on, Robert started to realize he was never going to get what he was promised, as Umbra's plans required him to stay a Shade. Robert claims to not know why having a Shade was so important to Umbra, but his guess is that it has something to do with his ability to jump from body to body.
With what Robert has said so far, it's starting to become clear that Umbra is convinced that the First Bible is not physically "here." It's… *elsewhere*. It could be Topside or Underside, though Robert seems to think it actually ***is*** in the Flipside, just not in this timeline. It's hidden in a parallel version of reality. Just out of Umbra's reach. For now. Though, with a member of the Society in his ranks? It should be child's play. As for if we can even trust Robert, he is staying at the Cafe in his original body; the object his entire being is tied to. If we wanted, we could pay his tab in full here and now. He knows that. It's… a decent sign of his sincerity, I suppose.
