Summary of Receipt

3311 (Travis) talks to Sondheim, one of the leaders of Division Bravo. CAFE AND DINER RECEIPT FROM */29/19
EMPLOYEE 3311
RECEIPT: ABOZOFROMBRAVO02
STATUS: OPEN

Now I just had the most interestin’ of encounters with a bozo from Bravo. No, no, not the bozo you’re thinking of. Duplicity, or ah, “Agent Webber” is, as far we know, deader than a possum. So, as dead as anyone is dead in our line of work. I can read between them there Indigo lines and, “due to AGENT WEBBERS’ [powers?] there is a chance [he survived?]. DIVISION HOTEL [is gonna shoot him like a yellow-bellied traitor?]” Would be my guess if’n ‘ya were to ask me. Mind you, they probably don’t include the cowboy theatrics none. And that’s why our coffee is better than theirs, I reckon.

Anyway, I had a run-in with Agent Sondheim. Sondheim is one of the tippity tops of Bravo, or at least he was when I worked there. And this bozo had the audacity to tell me, and by extension all of us, to hand over Julia if’n we know what’s good for us. Now see, that’s interesting. Astorians don’t usually go out of their way to threaten us at face value. Heck, Indigos in generals don’t operate that way. They all speak in vague, non-absolutes. See, if Agent Sondheim said to me somethin’ along the lines of “Well partner, that Julia is in a lot of trouble. The Cafe likes trouble, doesn’t it? Enjoy your trouble.” I’d think nothing of it. But to have the gall to look me in the eyes and tell me we need to hand her over, or else?

Shoot—I say we hang onto Julia as long as we can. And as long as she wants to be hanged on to, of course. These Indigos, and the Astorians especially, love to play the “hero,” but I’m telling ‘ya chances are good they’d kill Julia if they even thought for a moment her death could serve some sort of cosmic balancing. We already know that Julia is somehow important to something. And I reckon that something is Cafe-related at its core. Why else would we already have a file on Masoch? I’m gonna spend some time gettin’ to know Julia. Maybe there’s something she forgot to mention. In the meantime, 53’s fixin’ to look into Masoch, and 224 and 2213 are gonna see if they can’t uncover what Bravo knows that we don’t. Business as usual though, from here on out, Astoria and their Bravo’s are our FRIENDS, right? No need to give ‘em anything they want, including our new pal.
