ABRIDGED HISTORY CASE NO. 4

My apologies. I seemed to have skipped an important part of the original Cafe’s history. However, in my defense, it was one of their stranger outings. It was so strange, in fact, that there is no documentation of its events. Or, I should say, there is no documentation that we could easily access as it was not written on CaDComs from our time. I don’t necessarily believe getting into the intricacies of space and time now is necessary. As the Cafe and Diner, it is well expected that we will come up against the currents of time sooner or later. Just as the original Cafe and Diner did.

Around when Satan showed up in Long Beach, the original Cafe and Diner were visited by a man claiming to be a time traveler. His name was John Doe, and he came to 1995 to seek out a piece of technology critical to the well-being of his own timeline—as well as ours. In John’s timeline, the Prince of Greed, Mammon, along with the Prince of Sloth, Belphegor, had been raising six Indigo Children in secret. Belphegor used her powers to age their Indigo Kids, advancing their powers far beyond that of a typical Indigo Child. And once they were old enough, they utilized their influence and powers to bring about an apocalypse in the form of a Demon War.

Naturally, the Cafe and Diner of John’s timeline fought back as best as they could, but things ended in crisis as they so often do. A crisis that could only be undone by cracking the Cafe Crisis Cipher—the most advanced cipher created by the Original Owner, Lucifer, and Felix Blackwood. So, John Doe made the ultimate sacrifice, allowing himself to travel “back in time.” A misnomer, to be clear. While one can travel back in time, theoretically, it is extremely difficult for even the most powerful of customers. John traveled across to a timeline that was chronologically further back than his own. Our timeline. There, he sought the help of the original Cafe and Diner, who journeyed with him to his timeline to stop Mammon and Belphegor’s army of Indigo Children.

And that is, unfortunately, where that piece of the Cafe and Diner’s history ends. Did they succeed or fail? It is hard to say, as the original Cafe and Diner took a vow of silence over the events of the Indigo Wars. To some extent, they must have been successful as they returned in one piece. However, on the other hand, they brought John Doe back with them. To my knowledge, he started living in our timeline after the events of the Indigo Wars under a new pen name, Nine. I wonder what became of Nine’s original timeline?
